To be honest , a one man band could do a better job. They are moving low volume, high value items. This is not Amazon or Poundland we are talking about . One item a day . One frame, one box, one trip to the Post Office/ Yoodel MyHerpes depot.
One.Man. Job.
Think about it, generate postage label. Bung frame in bubble wrap, tube to protect the stays, bag of Haribo and you are good to box and send.
Then , after 0945 you can be CEO of a multi national company and swan about test driving luxury cars ,boats , choose your granite woork tops, spec out your home cinema etc.
They don't even need a unit, I could run that from my garage .

Fraudsters , they should get the watchdog team involved . Jeremy Kyle is looking for a new job, he can chase after them and shout alot and be antagonistic on camera , just like the canned show., but less fishy

Sorry but I've no sympathy for these guys anymore. It seems like the attitude of a lot of millennials I seem to come across in that they can do no wrong and its always someone else's fault or it doesn't matter. For that alone i hope they burn.

Bit of a convenient generalisation there andybrad. Are you sure it isn't their star signs that are to blame?

Iโ€™m a millennial. Better that than a boomer

Yeah, but still shite compared to us Gen X folks!

- Had to put up with Thatcher.
- Didn't have houses almost given to us like the Boomers did.
- Partied way harder than lightweight Millennials do and came out the other side smiling.

If they had been boomers they would have ended up with a very successful company.

The key to having a successful easy life is to have been born before 1960.

Classic Film scene remake

Posted on an earlier page but it's genius, funniest thing I've watched for a long time. Almost worth all this drama for it.

Too right. Talking to a mate a couple of days back, if I didn't like my job I'd hand in my notice on a Thursday, get the Thursday Oxford Mail and have a new job sorted inside a week.
Heck, I've even had several totally different careers. Very lucky. I still would not want us to leave the EU though...

And yes, that Sick Downfall clip is epic. In fact that should be it's title.

Sick Downfall - The Movie with Sean Walsh as Jordan and Silent Bob as Dimothy.

Err just realised - that post should read 'I still would NOT want us to leave the EU thoughโ€ฆ'

That makes a bit of a difference.

[mod edit: given the nature of that typo, I've edited it for you.]

If I'd accidentally stated a contrary position on EU membership I'd report my own post and ask the mods to fix it. And if they didn't I'd probably resort to somehow hacking into the database and doing it myself ๐Ÿ™‚ And if that didn't work I'd probably move to Tibet and become a monk.

Oh, come now, I would much prefer to inhabit the ephemeral layer of people's perceptions between thoroughly reasonable human being and contemptible arsehole ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, one typo and a lifetime of sackcloth and prayer flags awaits.

So, has anyone been sorted with a frame or a refund as a result of the Jordan Proclamation?

Just wondering, and keeping this on page one where the Sick lads donโ€™t want it to be.........

It's a bank holiday weekend, so he'll claim some nonsense that he cant transfer money. Then into next week he'll be trying to prioritise refunds in order of original orders. After that he'll claim bankruptcy

Why do they not just say we have no money but will refund as we trade out of the hole we are in.

I suggest sales are shit and it's impossible for then to move forward now without backing.

No one is going to back this.

No frames can be paid for from China.

Someone is going to have to put their house on the line if they have the confidence in it.

Because if they say that then nobody will give them any more money. "Prop up our Ponzi scheme, if you're lucky enough people will fall for it that you might actually get what you paid for".

I assume you mean the 150 supposedly incoming frames from Taiwan? What evidence do you have to support this?

Trading whilst insolvent is illegal.

Plus having that CCJ will make it all but impossible for them to borrow money.

Trading whilst insolvent is not illegal and is acceptable if there is a realistic expectation of being able to trade out of it, being very much dependent on the individual situations at the time. I suggest their reputation is so bad that even with capital injected they do not have a viable business moving forward.

Be lucky to get a delayed frame, they canโ€™t even get a t-shirt to me after 6 months and the repeated offer to just chose another that is in stock!

Ah, fair enough. Who decides what is realistic though? Or is that something that is applied with hindsight?

I think it all basically comes down to accounts. An awful lot of companies actually have no real money month to month, but have a demonstrable flow of orders in, work in progress and accounts payable in addition to any overheads.

Iโ€™d argue that โ€˜insolvencyโ€™ in the context of โ€˜trading whileโ€™ implies that a rational auditor, viewing the accounts, would conclude that barring miraculous intervention there was no hope.

Tomhoward decided without the benefit of hindsight, action for insolvent trading would be taken by a liquidator who could also look at deposits being taken and not ring fencing. Lots of options for a liquidator if the company enters formal insolvency proceedings. Key to rememberthough this would only be viable if the company or directors had assets to get at.

Any of the unlucky few heard anything else yet? Obviously not a refund or a frame, but even another fobbing off email?

Thought Iโ€™d ask, especially as this thread had just dropped off of the front page and it needs keeping up the top, just where Sick donโ€™t like it....

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trading_while_insolvent

I know it's wiki...

Reading that, Sick do seem perilously close to, or could actually be regarded as trading whole insolvent

They can't pay their bills, they don't appear to have any assets of value, and are still openly trading.

I've got nothing against them...but what's the chance of any order someone makes today being fulfilled? At that point they are knowingly scamming people

They canโ€™t pay their bills,

Do you have any proof of this?

Your forgetting the last drop saloon from China surely? Which of course was supposed to happen this month from internet rumour.

Well they didn't pay their frame builder, so think that would count as proof.

Well they apparently didn't. So either the funds weren't there or they're just incompetent.

Saw a Deathwish at FOD yesterday.
It didn't look as radical in person as I thought it would. Lovely spec with Ohlins and Hope stuff.
Looked nice (and straight ๐Ÿ˜‰ )! Had been well used by the lady owner it seemed. Paint looked sound too.

Someone on PinkBike got a refund via PaPal a couple of days back. Could be a good sign. Fingers crossed for everyone. Even Sick! if they manage to get their debts sorted.

So, one person may* have got a refund?

Hopefully the first of many, but I canโ€™t hold my breath that long.

*Unless it is a fake post put up by a fanboi or Sick themselves....

An acquaintance with an established small bike co... with decent cash flow, actual premises and real sales.. was telling me last year how the industry has changed and Taiwanese factories are no longer providing credit to brands and rather than paying for stuff after it's been recieved and you've sold your way through it, the factories won't even box it up and ship it until it's paid in full. That's a major business model adjustment and you need significantly different financing in place to get a container on the slow boat.
So, unless Sick have already paid and cleared this china drop, it could be reasonable to think that it's another Marino situation on a larger scale. (Assuming china and Taiwan factories have same payment policies)
Have Sick said it's been paid for?
Is this perhaps then where their money is tied up?
