Looking at an ultegra BBR60 BB
And an XT MT800
Other than the thread lock and lack of supplied spacers on the ultegra - are there any other difference's?
Width of cups
Xt cups are 1mm narrower.
I've used road and MTB BB's interchangeably plenty of times. I just reuse the middle tube because they are different lengths and spacers of necessary.

I'd not realised they'd changed XT but found it annoying when my normal BB tool wouldn't fit the Ultegra BB on my road bike.

There are 3 (shimano) sizes
44mm - old stuff & current rs500 / bb52 / mt501
41mm - ultegra / xt
39mm - dura ace / xtr
