Would a Storck Voltist meet that need, I wonder?

After yesterday evening's new 'Personal Worst' commute time, I'm quite keen on that...

Now if they could lift the speed restriction a little bit higher that would be amazing for those with a long daily commute that has a few hills thrown in. 20mph please.

Top job Giant, helping the less fit/able to go out and keep up with fitter/more able.

The local club has a guy in his 60's, 4 heart attacks and not in the best of health. Would struggle to keep up on the weekly mtb club rides, now he is chasing down the younger/fitter ones on the less twisty bits!

If every one they sell is one more car spending less time on the road then it can only be good.

Electric bikes could well be the best thing that has happened for people who would never ride one. It's not just less car miles driven it's drivers getting on bikes and becoming aware of what it's actually like to ride on the road.

I'm completely pro ebike, but drop bared road ones just seem a bit pointless with the motor cutting out at 15mph you're never going to keep up with the other roadies at 20mph+ on a 40lbs bike. So you might as well just get a nice comfy hybrid and cruise to work at 15.

I feel myself agreeing, but....thinking about it, would the motor help you get up to 15 then you could tuck in, slowly raise the speed to 17/18* and keep it at that steady pace?
Tucked into a group ride would it be feasible? aiui weight is a massive penalty on climbs (which <15mph the motor would negate) but it's wind/drag that's the issue on the flat, especially once you start picking up speed, so drop bars and getting a more aero position starts to make more sense.

Dunno just making an effor to see the potential, I'm currently trying to be less cynical - see how long it lasts

You'd have to chip it to keep up with the Gang I ride with, but thats a good thing. I reckon if you did chip it and ride with them, they'd treat you like a Derny and stay tucked in.
Be a hoot in the South Downs that..

Bit of an eyesore but can see it working well for the social Sunday morning coffee and cake club runs. Probably not aimed at the chain gang roadie set!

As has been said, great for getting more people out on bikes more often ๐Ÿ™‚
