Thought I'd post this, inspired by the Edinburgh trials vid. Not to start a 20" vs. 26" debate though. It's just some great filming, of amazing riding in my home town. If you know Brighton you'll know how crazy some of the riding is. There's a few more sections on youtube, but I highly recommend the dvd (Brighton Ain't Ready), especially if you do know the town.
I missed the link to the Edinburgh vid, does anyone have it ?
There's always one...
is quite good as well
t
good grief!
both beasts how the **** does he ride backwards with his wheel like that i just fall of with the slight role lol
no brakes either...
just noticed that after watching again
the other two if you couldn't find them...
Some real nice riding - love the backwards thing with the front wheel turned - and the manual up the steps was sweet.
...but grinding on stuff really annoys me...
It does actively damage the street furniture, and it's that as much as anything that gives "urban sport" (if that's the correct term) such a bad name, - its not just bikes - skateboarders and fruitbooters do it too. One of the nice things about the Danny Macaskill vid was that he didn't grind stuff and seemed to make very little use of his bash ring too.
anyway - just a little bugbear of mine. The kid's got skills.
Gotta love the intro to the Dan Lacey one. I figure they spend a lot of time going through that shit to get a 5 min film together.
How do they go backwards without the pedals turning?
They use a freecoaster hub.
according to that vid, GTD, they're designed by Bluto from Popeye 😀
Great link, thank you.
I was worried that bloke was going to have a heart attack when he was turning those cranks by hand.
The Dan Lacey clip is great. He's quite angry though? I've taken to spitting at my bike in tribute...
His hop to nose manual. Beautiful.
