I've got a new clarks c4 u brake. The calipers both appear to have the same spring in them. This means that one brake pad sits away from the rim whilst the other is pushed permanently onto the rim. Any ideas for a fix or have I messed up somewhere in the fitting?

Have you got both spring locator pins in the same lug hole on the bike frame?

You set the spring tension on each side befor you nip up the hex bolt on the stud using a spanner on the flats on the bit that surrounds the hex bolt. Does that make sense?

U brakes don't have a spring locator hole.

Hold the flats on the big 'washer' with a spanner.Turn these outwards to tension the springs and then tighten the 5mm allen key heads (you can vary how much tension to centre the brake on the rim).
Alternatively....read the instructions ๐Ÿ˜‰
