Just got in from a quick spin over the Malverns. It's generally dry-ish with the odd damp patch.
I was going at a fair speed down hill on gravel - the front end shot sideways through mud at the bottom of the hill. The side knobs on the schwalbes just dug in in time to save my skin.
Thanks mr Schwalbe!
What Schwabes? Your heart stopped pounding yet?
Rocket Rons.
Just saying, it wasn't down to bike skills that I stayed upright. I was definitely on my way down when they gripped again....
I'm surprised people get so worried about a bit of going sideways, you'll be a better rider if you get used to it and can control it. I'm used to tyres 'letting go' now and it makes riding a lot more when yo go sideways ๐
Don't mind the back end letting go or a bit of drift but a 25mph face plant as the front end lets go is less desirable.
It woke me up though!
