Hi,

Just wanted peoples views on the best tyre for Dalby Red route. Was up there on my Ti456 on Sunday. its got 2.1 Nobby Nics on and I was proper struggling, especially on the suttery single track and the damp "cobbly" sections. They are fine on the mud and smooth bits but it was like riding a pogo stick on the rough stuff. I had them at 30PSI BTW.

i went round on my mountain king 2.4 's ok? in fact they gripped well. but i would like to try some kenda small block 2.4's, i reckon they'd be ace. mate has some on his SC and they seem to grip well in everything except deep(ish) mud ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks Neil, I see One-One are doing BOGOF on 2.4 Mountain Kings, I'll give them a whirl.

I found mountain kings awful. I ride Dalby quite a lot and very rarely fall off there but last time I rode with mountain kings I could hardly stay on the bike, the front end was just washing away all the time. Put Maxxis high rollers on and no more problems!

I rode Dalby Red route again about 3 weeks ago, I had 2.1 Panaracer XC Fire Pros on. Out of the 3 different brands I've tried there (WTB Raptors,Conti Speed Kings, Conti Mountain Kings), the Panaracers I've found to be the best.

I use Nevagal on the front and Small Block 8 on the back, as does my wife. The back end skitters a little but the front doesn't - and the rolling resistance of the SB8 id fairly low. So I'd call that a good compromise.

But then I'm rubbish and rarely test the edges of their grip.
