Off to Afan tomorrow for a couple of days and have the choice of Nobbly Nics or Race Kings Protection to put on. Which would be most suited ?

The nics have thin side walls but better grip if it gets wet. Comments appreciated.

Round black ones, the kind you'd normally be happiest on.

Take both sets if you're there for a couple of days. Wont take long to swap a tyre if you aren't getting on with it.

I'd take something fat & sticky. with lowish profile tread.
It doesn't get muddy & you can lower the pressures for more grip.

A well worn set of panaracer cinder 2.25 or mountain kings 2.4?

Give 2.1 High Rollers a miss - I kept getting pinch flats, I guess due to the thin sidewalls. Kenda Blue Groove & Nevegals seem to be fine.

I've been running specialized eskar control 2 bliss 2.3 for 2 years on and off there (I live 6 miles away and on my second set). Cheap, light and good rollers, no pich flats. Ideal for trail centre's probably not the "In" tyre but works easliy as good as High Rollers which I have run there too.

2.35 highrollers on the front and 2.1 crossmarks on the back. A guy in the bikeshop in Glyncorweg recomended it and it works!

well it's been raining all day today so probably go for the nics. Just avoid the worst of the rock
