I'm fitting a flip flop rear wheel to a Surly 1X1. What tyres can I use that are non directional? It'll be for holiday trails only, so OK on the road and non technical, gravel or fire road type stuff..............

Slicks?

Seriously tho, I hardly think it'll notice much if at all.
I certainly wouldn't worry about it.

It anything, if its directional run it the right way for the freewheel side, since you'll just be skidding it about on the fixed side.

I think it only really matters on the front

Kenda Karma (Cortez)- non-directional, lightish, central line of rubber knobs make it roll ok on (fire)road. Good rear tyre but I don't recommend them for the front. £20 odd on eBay although £35 a pair including P&P is good for having a spare....did I mention, don't put them on the front.
