Slowly but 'shirley' building my kaff up. As I'm on a budget I don't want to be spending 35 quid/tyre and also due to the limited clearance and the fact I want to ride a bit on the road, I'm looking at 28-30 wide.
Really like the look of the halo twin rails in 29mm. Nothing else seems to tick the boxes for rolling speed and tread for a bit of mud.
Have heard cx tyres are really soft and wear out quickly. Something sturdy but fastish rolling is what I'm after.
Any opinions on the halo and/or recomendations for others?
TIA
run the halo twin rails (700x24) on my communter (correct name for it as its fugly)and have to say i am impressed with them, bit disconcerting to start with getting used to the grip when compared to standard road slicks, but lasting well so far, I have a 16 mile round trip and alls sweet, also loving the pink/lime green colour combo!!
not sure on the 29's but cant be too far off the 24's surely
Thanks
Think they are the ticket.
