I got a Shimano SLX twin ring and was wondering if I can fit a chain stay to keep the chain flexing so much on the downs as thats what i ride mostly. It's on a Yeti 575 2008.
chain device?
That's the one ๐ณ
An extra chainstay to stop flex on a 575 isn't a bad idea, to be fair.
In that case, yes you can. You just need to determine what type you can fit.
I can't remember if the '08 575 had ISCG tabs; I'm pretty sure they didn't until about 2011.
Has it got 3 bolt holes in a circle around the BB on the drive side? If so, they'll be ISCG mounts that you can bolt a chain device to.
If not, don't worry, you can use a BB mounted one.

This one would work, and is pretty cheap:

Note: you won't want the ISCG one - it'll either be "ISCG '05" or BB.

Stay away from the superstar one. It needs bending to position it correctly and the roller seizes after a few rides.
This would be perfect IMO

Also you'd have a spare for when the first one snaps.
Blackspire's Stinger is well proven- it's pretty simple, and heavier than it needs to be but it does the job. Some frames have clearance issues with it, no idea if the 575 is one but generally they can be solved with an angle grinder anyway.
If you want something lighter and more generally lovely, Gamut's one is the same concept only posh, and expensive.
