I've not been here long, but haven't really seen much posted about them - are they any good or nothing particulary special?

Dunno. But don't trust their stock info. Had a refund recently due to an "in stock" item not being "in stock".
Seems to be happening more. Refunds from Hibike.de and singletrackbikes.co.uk recently due to inaccurate stock levels on the websites. Not items my LBS holds either.

Well, they are owned by DemonTweeks, who are shite.

Used to be good back in day, but I recently asked them for the spring rates on a few suspension packages, their Technical Sales Manager replied this was classified and as per manufactures instructions they couldn't tell me. I informed him I could buy their spring rate checker and measure myself, and in any case, I'd found the info on the spring manufactures website. I won't ever be using them for car parts again.

However, that said, I have just received a bike order, cheap, fast, what's not to like. They don't seem to have much in stock though last time I checked.

I used them for a couple of things when the price was right, but they don't seem to be very good for providing product info etc. Nothing outstanding to report in either direction

I've only had two goes at using them. Both times failed. First time the item was discontiued even though it said they were in stock, over a week later a gentle nudge email and no answer. Then another email to be told sorry that item is discontinued. A few days later another polite email from me asking if I could possibly have my money back then? (as they deduct funds straight away). So I got the money and obviously cancelled the order. Tried again, similar story, item in stock and over a week later just another polite enquire email and then told no we don't have any of those anymore. So cancelled and got my money back straight away at my request. Guess I was just unlucky.

I'm sure there will be plenty of people who use them without issue.

Have bought a fair bit from them in the past (motorbike gear that is). Demon Tweeks is not a million miles from where I live & their premises are pretty impressive.

Have bought a few cycling related items from them as TWeeks Cycles no problems apart from inflexible postage arrangements (do I really need secure/guaranteed/signed for delivery on a pair of socks?)

I should just point out that part of my dissatisfaction with parent company DemonTweeks is that they used to be a serious outfit where you'd buy bits to build your (e.g) Group 4 Escort. Now it's more tailored towards LED washer jets and go faster stripes. The fact that they won't tell you the rates of car suspension springs (you know, those highly important safety critical items) speaks volumes.

I've used them before, not for mail order stuff but buying actually in the shop, can't say I've had any bad Experiances I guess it's like any shop sometimes it's bad sometimes it's good. They have always had what I needed instock.

Used several times for mail order and they've been great.
Bought an XT wheel with X12 hub in Sep and a RS Reveleation seatpost in Jan - both were cheaper than on the usual suspects sites, and both arrived within a couple of days.

I've used them several times for car bits without any problems when I've been out that way & stock levels always seemed good even for odd stuff.
No idea on the bike side though as I've never bought from them even though it's in the same building just turn right instead of left through the door!

Ordered a pair of brakes from them yesterday, apparently they've arrived at home whilst I've been at work - assuming no problems that's decent. Exchanged a few emails regarding the order which were answered promptly, all good so far...

Used them once during the Christmas run-up. Price and delivery were both spot on, cheaper and quicker than the usual suspects.

Very good so far, ordered several things from them and stock is in and dispatched quickly.Pricing is comparable with other on line retailers and queries via email are answered quickly.

Website has improved recently, stock quantity etc.

Their old DT website was poor. On the car parts side the knowledgable staff, Dave Kimberley in particular, are an asset. They do compete in a variety of motorsport, racing, historics, sprints etc and offer a number of good deals to competitors.

These online retailers all offer massive number of lines and many rely on manufacturers descriptions on websites.Stock levels and controls from distributors appear equally hit and miss so items can go oos sameday as something is ordered.

Surely if you need some advice would you not be better to find a good LBS who may have better knowledge, somebody like North West Mountain Bikes are amazing, yes you sometimes pay a little more but they do offer decent kit and sound advice.

Used them twice. Once sent wrong item(long cage mech instead of short) but rectified quickly. Second time no issue. Quick delivery both times too.

..and my brakes arrived ok. Retail boxed (with all the gubbins) uk spec XT brakes for ~£30 more than Rose etc, with me in <24hrs including some email exchange to answer some questions. Can't complain about that.

Stock is an issue - I wanted so buy something from them that was fairly expensive, luckily I mailed first and found no stock with them or importer. They mailed me when they got it in and all was fine.

I've tried to order twice. Same scenario as chunkymtb. Money taken nothing delivered. When I emailed them I was told t hey we're waiting for stock. Haven't used since and probably won't again.

Good mechanic there, and friendly on the phone and via email. Not very helpful when it comes to organising demos.

Bought a king headset from them on a special. Was so much cheaper than the other usuals. Turned up a couple of days later as described. Not a problem.

Hey, ordered a pair of slx brakes from them on Tuesday and they were in my hands around 24 hours later. That was with free delivery too so I was pretty impressed. 112 delivered for the pair of slx with the ice tech pads. Should do a psa for them actually. It's only one experience but I think they did really well. Cheers
