Might be heading over there for the weekend in August.
I can fly my Flux out there for free with BA, but am wondering whether it might be a little out of its depth. I will be using it for downhill (taking the cable car up). It is currently set up with RS Revs on the front down-tuned to 120mm (20mm maxle), but is 105mm travel on the back.
If it's going to be completely out of it's depth (I'm also mindful of my 90kgs bulk on my 85kgs max Crest rims!), then I'll look into hiring a Lapierre or something when I'm out there.
Thoughts?
85kgs max Crest rims!
I've seen one or two quotes on weight limits for Stan's rims but AFAIK they don't actually quote a limit
It depends where you are thinking of riding. If you're doing the DH/MTB specific trails the bike will take a hammering. The descent from Flegere for example, is something like 1400m, and despite being man-made it is pretty rough and rocky. If you're doing stuff like that you'd probably be better hiring something bigger. If you're using the lifts to explore a bit, the Flux should cope alright.
The Flux is more than capable - as much as an old HL 5 Spot. Your wheels however, may be the weak link.
