[#322009]

New bike this summer. I ride a Chameleon at the moment. But I'm getting on a bit and need some comfort.

Hemlock running 120/140 if cy is right that would be the ideal bike to move to after a HT

i can't comment on the new 5 spot as it's the new dw link, see www.mtbr.com and look for the turner forum, there is nothing they don't know.
i always wish i'd been able to keep my old turner, i loved that bike. just everything right. having said that i've seen first hand how much thought and design good practise goes into the cotics and would be very tempted.
sorry that doesn't answer the question but there are some turner demo days happening somewhere and i think 18 bikes have a cotic demo so give it a go if you're anywhere near the peaks.

There's about £700 or £800 difference in price. I own a Hemlock and it's brilliant. Only ridden in 120mm guise so far and just put some 150mm Talas forks on it last weekend and it's perfect for what I wanted.

£800 could get lots of stuff including an Alpine holiday...

Or an XTR crankset after the next lot of price hikes!

Hemlock plus a long Alps holiday or a 5 spot if you want to pose and image is more important that ability 🙂

£800 quid difference in price should make it a no brainer

Which forks then. I like Pikes but I would like a bit more travel.

09 Fox 36 TALAS on his, very nice. Whatever you get they've got to be adjustable travel so you can play with all the travel combos 120/120 120/160 160/160 etc etc

The new Talas 32's are very nice and available in 150mm travel with 15mm axle. Half a pound lighter than my air Pikes they replaced too. They're expensive, but if you're saving £800 over the Turner then you're still quids in.

Tested the Turner a couple of weeks ago after talking to DT at Core Bike '09.

Got to say that it is the most amazing thing. It's like he said "If I tell you it sounds like bullSh*t!" Get a test ride before you buy though and decide for yourself. It's character is the same as the old 5-spot, but it peddles far better and almost no kickback.

I liked it so much I became a dealer, which means I had to buy three! Does that make me biased?
