Is it normal to find a 'give' in resistance on the downstroke when pedalling? Do I just need to tighten up the roller so there's less interruption to tyre contact? ta

The 'give' will be the tyre slipping on the roller. Should be tight enough to stop it slipping, without being so tight that it wears the tyre too quickly. Trainer tyre might be worth a try too-specific for the job.

yeah there's a flat spot on the tyre, switched it with the front but still an issue so prob the wheel ๐Ÿ™

I also thought that as it was every downstroke it was less likely to be the flat spot causing the issue. I'll tighten it up, i'll run the current tyre into the ground and get new ones for outdoor.
