My lbs is great, but the one thing they stock that I hate is cheap tubes! Raleigh to be precise - they're crap! Lots of seams, hard to repair - guess that's why they sell 'em!

Anyhoo! Any ideas for cheap reliable tubes? Tried Tescos yesterday and although they where cheap they were all schreader!

Cheap, reliable, pick one?

Tubes are tubes. Sometimes you can go for a year without a flat and then go through 3 tubes in a month (I did). I don't think I could blame any on the tube, except for a specialized one, which pinch-flatted very easily.

I don't like any that don't have decent length stems, else it's a struggle to get pumps on in the cold. I've seen Schwalbe, Continental and Specialized that fit the bill. I have a couple of superlight Kendas but don't think they'd fit the bill as reliable. I've never had the balls to fit them though as I'm currently going though a phase of pinch-flatting.

A mate got a pack of 10 Conti tubes for £20 from an online retailer and sold the excess. Can work out cheap that way if you have enough friends!

HTH, YMMV, IANAL, GL&HF.

😆

They cost 8p to produce. Decathlon they are around £2 IIRC, if not, Halfords have 3 for 2 on...£9.98.

most places seem to do specialized ones, three for a tenner.
