So just bought a bike and it came set up tubeless. First ride out and I get a flint through the tyre. Sealant won't hold and so I put a tube in as I didn't have a tubeless repair tool yet. Can't help thinking tubeless is more faff than its worth (which is why I haven't converted on any of my other bikes but whatever).
So I have just bought a tool (Peaty Holeshot? No idea if its any good) but looking on you tube it suggests a tyre boot on the inside as a better way of fixing cuts when you get home. Looked at all the usual suspects online but can only find boots for tubed tyres......so where do i get these mythical tubeless tyre boots?

Yeah so if you read my post you would see I can already find tyre boots for tubed tyres.

I use a Dynaplug Racer for trail side and then do a repair with a mushroom plug from the inside once back home.
I’ve just used normal tube repair patches in the past with no issues.
Keep forgetting to order those mushroom things though they look good.
I had a flint cut that plugs couldn't seal, they got me home though
I patched with standard inner tube patched but they were too stretchy and the tyre bulged, and I could see tha patch - this made me nervous that th slightest nick on the trail would go though it.
I got this velux patch kit and patched the inside of the tyre using it. The patches are thicker and don't stretch as much. Seems to be holding well

What tyres? OEM tyres are often really thin walled in an attempt to keep weight down.

Its a Trek Procaliber 9.6 - tyres are some awful Bontranger 'team issue' nonsense and look to be slightly thinner than the spare inner tube I put in to fix the puncture!
I think they will be the first upgrade (well second as I already bought a carbon seatpost)
