There is or was one wasn't there? pretty sure I didn't dream that one up.
there was one for the old school
no tri bars allowed
ian whatshistface at planet X had something to do with it !
Yup, PX ran it IIRC. Rules were a bit vague, allong the lines of "no TT bars, nothing deeper than open pro rims, normal (vented) helmets, no skinsuits or overshoes, no aero frames or parts, push your luck within the rules and we reserve the right to ban you on the day".
I'm planning on doing some local club ones on a normal bike just to give me something to aim for fitness wise.
If you wanted to get serious/compettative then maybe suggest a sperate prize for normal bikes at the clubs AGM? Although most roadies I know have a TT bike, even if it's just an old frame with TT bars and a massively -ve rise stem.
don't the london dynarod do something at richmong park with a road bike category?
Sir ๐ Ian 'Tosser' Cammish was your man for the old skool series of testing.

I did some photos for them back in 09 but the series died during 2010.

That would be very naughty given the 20mph speed limit in the park... ๐

Yeah and it looks like the Beeb pulled the video not long after it was posted - http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/news/latest/528550/millar-sets-richmond-park-time-trial-record.html
