[#632109]

Just got a cheapish Truvativ Carbon Noir chainset of a buddy..

After around 45-60 mile later the arm(LH) on the spline has movement when holding both by my hands.

Cant see the slines worn(steel) so has to be Alloy arm yeah ?
Anyone else come across this thing ?

THX Jv..

A common problem, if in the past it wasn't fitted correctly, tightened enough the crank arm would wear and never be right again.

Can maybe pick up another crank arm from a decent sized bike shop that has some old/used/spares 'out back'

what was your buddy's reason for selling it?

I had this happen on a truvativ crank on my fixie to the point where it was coming loose every ride and had clearly damaged the taper on the crank.

I managed to fix it by cleaning all the mating surfaces (eg splines on crank and axle, bolt threads and internal threads on the axle and using a good threadlock plus doing it up b@stard tight. Never came loose again.
