I was raking through a spares box at the weekend and found a brand spanky new Truvativ GPX bottom bracket. Now why I have this I have no idea but was womdering what is it compatible with. Does it fit Shimano cranks or does it have to be Truvativ/SRAM stuff?

not compatible with owt other than truvativ/sram as you suspected. don't waste your life on it. put it on the classifieds for some poor bu66er who is running the aforementioned cranks.
AFAIK they only work with the truvativ GXP cranks, stylo, firex etc due to being a different diameter compared to shimano ht11 bb's.
Ill take it off your hands if you decide to sell it!

Truvativ-specific as folks have said. I have various Truvativ cranks, I've had no problem with most but there's an Elita road SS crank that WILL NOT stay done-up. Drives me mad, and I went back to sq. taper.
