Just ordered replacement pedals as i smashed one off a rock!
After a few years on crank bros i'm going back to reliable shimano spuds had nothing but problems with 2 pairs of candys and a pair of mallets !!
For the second time my left pedal has become welded to my truvtiv crank arm (LH)any tips on getting it off i'm not fussed about damaging the pedal or the shaft its sitting on but i can't get my head round why this has happened again and the pedals have been taken off now and again and shafts greased rings fitted supplied with chainset etc anybody any ideas as new kit for repair of chainset and pedals are on order !!! ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

the crank with a pedal stuck on it is already damaged! seriously though you will be surprised how much heat the crank will take. A plumbers blow lamp is ideal.

Well have good news i know own a limited editon left crank arm (brass/gold colour) near the pedal end. 10 mins of heat off a plumbers gun and it flew out ๐Ÿ˜€ any tips on this never happening again ??? other than greasing the pedal shafts ????

try copperslip instead of grease?

IIRC its something to do with the copper in the paste that stops an electro/chemical bonding between the two different metals in the shaft and arm threads. Someone with a white coat and NHS specs will be a long in a minute to correct my sub GCSE chemistry.
