I have been asked to do the running section of a Triathlon but as a group event it's €300!!
Am I being a tight arse or are they taking the plss?
€100 for a half marathon? jeesh. All they have to do is stick some road cones out and put a table up for drinks 😉
Oh it's the Lisbon race by the way, should that make any difference.

Nope, sounds reasonable enough - three disciplines, lots to organise. Water based events need lots of safety staff/equipment due to the risk of drowning which adds to the cost.
Triathlon is meant to be a middle class sport, anyway 😉
