[Closed] trek fuel ex9 sag meter

just bought a practically new fuel ex 9 (09) although the chap hasnt given me the sag meter for settin g up rear shock.
1. Do i need it?
2. any suggestions on air pressure setting im about 12&1/2 stone.

You dont need it. i set at about 20 - 25% 0f the stroke. i have EX8. and the sag meter says 25 - 20% 0n it.
if your local to bradford you can have it. i never use it

so if i test the shock at a low pressure say 80psi to measure the full length of the stroke then add pressure to set sag at about a qtr of that i should be good to go?

ok just been out to the garage with sag meter.

elastic band round shock pushed up to top. sit on bike and set air so elastic band is in line with sag meter. measurement from top of shock is 2cm.

basically 2cm of sag. hope that helps.

check out the video too. you'll need to compress at least 50% to activate 2nd air chamber in rear shock.

13stone fuel Ex8 '09 - I run it at 145-150psi - I think it's the same shock as Ex9 Fox RP2 VX (large air volume) probably a bit less for you - 140psi?
