Does anyone run a coil rear shock on a trek fuel, just wondering as I love the feel of coil forks.

I know of a few coils on remedys, you could fit one on the EX too if you want, they'll benefit from a specific tune as the linkage is design to work with the DRCV unit.
The other option is to fit a specifically tuned 'normal' air shock like the CTD or similar.

I've got an old stlye non-DRCV Fuel Ex 8 and i'm not stoked with the Monarch RT3 on it (seems to sag to 30% no matter how much air i put in the chamber, even after bleeding several times), i've got an old Fox Vanilla RC in the shed that's the right length, just going to source a cheap 450/500lb spring and i might give it a try.

Any advice on the Monarch would also be greatly appreciated.

Shock installed.
550lb seems about right. Dialled in compression and rebound seems ok.

A certain retro/frankenbike cool to it too.

Do you know the shock and bush sizing?

Can you let me know how you get in with it?

Adil.

Shock is a 192x51, a smidge longer than the old shock (190x51). Doubt there'll be any issue as there won't be much energy left in the spring when it's topping out, plus the rebound damping.

bushings are 12.7mm

the mounts are 34.0x8mm and 40.0x8mm
got them via ebay from donnington moto warehouse
