Did the Chiltern 100 yesterday & saw a couple of bikes that looked like those stepper machines at the gym with small wheels & treadles connected to cranks right at the back of the bike - whats that all about then? Looks kinda crazy & must be horrible in a head wind.
Nobody any ideas - can't seem to find anything on tinternet

Not quite but found it now - was one of these crazy things, looks quite fun but not sure I'd want to use one on a road sportive.
