Just bought a Trek Fuel ex 5, it came with a tranzx jd-ysp18 130mm dropper, the higher models come with a 150mm Brand-x dropper. Does anyone know if my tranzx jd-ysp18 can be hacked to make it 150mm?

I had a ysp15 and pretty sure it’s same as brand x. I swapped it out for a longer brand x but just reused same lever given looked like basically the same dropper.
Whether you can ‘mod’ it though no idea. Can you mod a brand x to change travel - assuming same - as folk on here probably more familiar with the brand x.
If it’s like the newer style of brand x you can’t travel change them with Oneup spacers anymore. I had a 170mm one for a mate’s bike and it was tight as to whether we could get it lower in the frame - but neither the one up V1 plastic spacers or v2 brass ones fit apparently.
Just ebay it / classifieds as brand new before you ride it and buy a longer brand x from start fitness, you shouldn't lose much money.
