Ive bought a T5 on an 06 plate with 147000 miles on the clock,now how many miles have these vans been known to clock up?
148,000 and then it's curtains...

they seem to keep selling with up to 200k on the clock, cam belt every 80k (AA ones done by AA at 60k)

depends how well it's been looked after/driven. 147k is not [i]that [/i]bad for a well cared for t5. Service history and some idea of how many sets of tyres/pads its been through in its 4 years and 147k miles would reassure/worry you.

not worried no,solid,drives like new.
As long as its got service history to back it up 147k is just run in, and if it the 5 cyclinder motor all the better
250k ish is the norm, just keep it serviced regularly
