When was any info on the 2016 bikes first available last year?

I've decided to buy a Patrol and am happy to wait for the 2017 ones to come out as long as there's something new, if they just release pretty much the same bike I'll just get a 2016.

Basically I'm getting all excited about getting a new bike and want to know how soon I can see/get one!

I would have thought a carbon scout would be the 2017 bike.

edit: which I really don't need and can't afford.

I love my Patrol - it's amazing. Carbon Patrol information didn't start appearing on their website until December IIRC. It was on some of the media websites in September.

Given that the Patrol carbon has only just come out, they won't change geo on the alu for 2017. I would think new colours and new linkage or at least options for new linkage and metric shock, as they were using the Patrol to show it off in the pinkbike press release.

Yeah I was thinking more future proof standards such as metric shocks rather than a geo review

I think they will make it work with the current frame + new linkage. I think from the pictures on pinkbike there could have been a flip chip or two mounting positions. Easily wrong though. Wether or not you wait it will still be a great bike, my carbon patrol is sick. Very fast and tons of fun.

Thanks pigyn I was hoping you would reply! I know no one knows but what's your guess as to when the info may be available? If the linkage were retrofit it would be ideal..

Had a proper go on a mate's Patrol last week and was blown away. I thought my Covert was quick till I jumped on that!

Also what's availability like on Large Alu Patrols?

Regarding availability I believe the batch of frames that was delivered recently was the last drop of 2016's and they were all preordered so the only ones you could reserve is the next drop which was going to be 2017's. This is only what was told to me when I bought my Smuggler. The shop I bought it from (plush hill cycles) had two Patrol frames, my mate bought one, don't know if they still have the other which was a large.

That's also what I have been told by a friend who owns my lbs. I ended up with the last large carbon patrol that wind wave had. I saw that merlins had some alloy in large and I think Kustom bikes had one or two.
