Hi
I am looking to cycle across the Pyrenees his summer (west to east) and have been struggling to find any mountain bike routes, other than the one for the official race. Has anyone on here done this ride, or know of any routes which aren't as knarley as the race route?

There are 4 of us doing it E to W in May, self supported, it's quite an undertaking, 600 miles and 23,000m of climbing. Our itinerary allows for 11-12 days of riding. There are several routes listed on Wikilocs, the whole route can be found by searching Zinaztli's routes. There is a guide book written by Jordi Laparra but it's only available in Spanish. The "official" route runs mainly on the Spanish side from Irun to Llanca but can be extended to Cap De Creus nr Cadaques. Our plan is to leave transport at the end and take the train through France to the start in Llanca.
