I am thinking of doing the Trans=Cambrian Ride over 3 days next month. Anyone got any comments on the Rhayader-Llangurig leg? How does it compare with, say, the 75km Rough Ride route?

Did it a couple of years ago and if I remember correctly it was about 47 mile.I'm sure we only thought it was going to beabout 41-42 miles but with a de-tour for lunch etc (we only just made the lunch stop before it closed, which would of been a bit of a bummer) it soon adds up.
It took us about 9 hrs or so not in a great hurry .
Its a little isolated and exposed at times. The wind was against us along the side of the reservior so that made it a little harder. We didn't feel like drinking too many pints that night. Bit of a shock after the first day.
Overall it was a really good ride with some really good bits and a little harder than I thought it would of been. I was expecting it to be more double track and green lanes etc but it was a much more interesting.
