5'7 with shoes on. Body normally proportioned. Is a 56cm/22" toptube too small? (ie the 16" Trance on Pauls) Layback seatpost + 100mm stem maybe?
my mrs is 5'3" and rides a medium Trance.
i'm 6' and ride a large Giant XTC
HTH
I'm 5ft 8 (no shoes on). Ride a trek fuel ex but test rode a trance X medium, and had plenty of seat post showing. I like a fairly XC, saddle high position usually though I feel small would have been way too small for me.
Not sounding good then.....bugger
I'm 5ft 8in (without shoes) and had a medium (18in) Trance.
The TT is pretty short anyway so the 16in would probably have been too cramped, if it's any shorter at all.
Worked best with a 70mm stem I thought, might have gone shorter still if I'd kept it.
Never mind though, all is not lost!
I'm selling my 18" 2008 Trance frame (the year the frame was made much lighter) with Pushed Fox shock for a very reasonable £325 posted.
Email in profile if interested.
I'm 5.10 and ride an 18 trance x. Seems fine to me
I'm 5' 7" with 30" inside leg.
2006 model small Trance with 90mm stem and Thomson layback post.
Felt fine on Friday evening again - not used for a while.
However, noticed that it did feel 'upright' in comparison to my other bikes. Perfect for the playbike I use it for.
It runs Revs at 130mm on the front.
I suspect you are now no closer to the answer.....
Ha - now its a lot harder....
Girlfriend who is 5'1" rides a 16" reign with 50mm stem. I think it'll be too small for you, it would suck to have to run a long stem and ruin the handling.
