Have signed up for the Etape Caledonia and was checking out Trainsmart as an incentive to get out and train for it.
Anybody used it or any similar system?
Yeah I know I should just MTFU, get out on my bike and eat less (fewer?) pies but I thought some kind of training plan might be good to follow to keep momentum up especially over the winter months when I can add in road biking, MTB, running etc to the training mix.
Structured training programmes are the right way to go IMHO and especially as you have a goal in mind. Plenty of written word stuff out there (quick search of Amazon reveals loads) and this is just as good, advice wise, as any online stuff. Put a plan in place, get a HRM, keep a diary and track/review progress. Either get a coach (with the money saved) or better still upgrade bike stuff
