Hello,

Does anyone know of training plans for 24-hour pairs events, there are 24 solo plans about... but I doubt they would be specific enough for the optimum benefit.

Does anyone know of any?

Cheers

Ricks

I've come 2nd and 3rd at Relentless in the pairs, and won a few 12 hour pairs events.

Me and Chris (and his replacement Huw) just ride our bikes lots, and fast. Simple as that.

(Oh, and I run lots in winter)

Ride lots and lots. Riding long and slow trains your endurance, riding fast and short trains your speed.

Enjoy.

Short and fast tends to do for me- I don't do many long rides. Pairs is like a lot of short rides in a row than one big one. I'm crap at solo stuff, but pairs I can hold my own.

I'm no' but a bairn. Seem to bounce fast.

I',ll rephrase-

it's like lots of short rides except you gradually get more bloodshot and pale and sickly looking, and you tend to get a bit more wobbly and occasionally have to walk.

Otherwise, it's all normal...

yeh as spokescycles says..just ride plenty in the build up... just completed the pairs at relentless and was doing 5-6hr rides on the weekends building up to the event, I dont really train hard its just the amount of miles you do that counts....oh and get a single speed...that works for 24hr events as well as it keeps the lap times consistent ๐Ÿ™‚
