The Mrs wants to visit an old mate in Matlock so it's an opportunity for me to pack the bike and explore somewhere new.
Am I right in thinking that there are trails in the Cromford/Black Rocks area of the map? The person who told me about it is an old colleague who I can't contact.
Are we taking winch and plummet or a nice little loop somewhere? Or should I head somewhere else nearby?
Not looking for an epic, just a few hours of solo entertainment.
Lots of decent riding round Matlock, Darley Dale, Chatsworth and Bakewell. Some of it cheeky mind.
Black rocks has some nice trails, albeit not very long and it's better worked into a loop. Crich Chase and Shining Cliff are good add ons if you want to stay over that direction. I'll try and find one of my Strava routes incorporating the lot
There's also a LOT of steep tech to session at Black Rocks, but it's easily avoided.
When are you coming?
I'm waiting for the decision on when. It'll be a weekend this month hopefully.
Steep tech is fine. Is it anything like Wharny where it's easy to circle around and repeat the steep bits?
Not been to Wharny for years, but yeah I guess so, but a bit more compact. Yeah there's a trail straight through the middle takes you back to the top
