guys is there any good trails near balloch/loch lomand
jackthelad
Couple of trails up at Arrochar for starters.
From Ardgarten down the west side of Loch Long then up the east side of Loch goil and back parallel to the rest and be thankful.
Or from the head of loch long up onto the forest road that the Cobbler path crosses then towards Ben Vane then singletrack back to Arrochar. (in last months MBR i think).
And of course The West Highland way, Ben lomond and miles of trails in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park around Aberfoyle.
Have a look at the Visitscotland (cycling) website for loads of trails in the area.
Cheers.
Plenty natural stuff - but you'd have to go look for it...are you looking for a trail centre so you can just follow the arrows? If so, not much around there...
Hi dick, was just wondering what ws in my neck of the woods, got the wife into it, and it is like a kid taking her first steps to walk,so looking for someeasy stuff, more site seeing if you know what i mean.
Ah in which case, plenty natural stuff, but nothing like a trail centre - sorry, by definition of natural and trail centre might have sounded harsh...was only meant to differentiate between the 2 types of stuff - one you need to follow your nose and check a map and the other where you don't need to know where you are going or follow a map as the signposts keep you right.
I don't know the area that well but from what I've seen heard, there is stuff there, but it needs to be found (check the OS map)...enjoy it, nice place to go for a wee break with some cracking scenery...
For a nice scenic route you could head up the Stoneymollan Road from Balloch over towards Cardross/Helensburgh.
Nice views over Loch Lomond and then the Clyde, but in terms of riding it's just a tough hillclimb follow by a very average dirt track down again. Could be better in the opposite direction though...
