There's shite loads of stuff up there but you will have to spent a lot of time mooching. Head out towards seven springs and explore.

there are miles of really good singletrack hidden all over the chase, your best bet is to find a local on here and see if they'll take you for a guided tour.

You will have to bear in mind that most of off piste cannock riders are, well....a bit odd!

failing that the west mids bike forum chaps seem to be a welcoming if exceptionally po faced and straight laced bunch who regularly arrange rides on lots of hidden little gems around the chase.

Oh and if you can handle being seen riding with a mob of SS freaks you are welcome to join us for a ride anytime on the chase (same applies to any other forum lurkers who fancy some secret cannocky action)

Shame a lot of the tree felling is wrecking some trails ๐Ÿ™ Still should come to an end soon as their won't be a tree big enough left to cut ๐Ÿ˜‰

@ kuco- that's why there is good stuff tucked away in the areas of ancient woodland that the forestry boys don't touch ๐Ÿ˜‰

Loads of stuff around the Chase, but with all the recent rain it's also getting ripped to pieces so you won't see it at it's best & the forestry are chopping down way too much stuff for my liking !

I only live down the road and havn't ever ridden the secret stuff, I have wanting to do it for a few years now. Any chance of a slow fat boy evening ride? One of my riding buddies goes with the regular Tuesday night group and says they are bloody fast, I don't know if they would appreciate me slowing them down.

There has been a load of felling on the 'off piste' trails, along with areas closed for sensitive wildlife issues.
Still if your prepared to have a wander for a couple of hours, you can still put a decent loop together.

That trail near the coms tower has recently been dug up which is a real shame.

As others have said just spend a few hours exploring and you will find your own great rides, it will take you a long time to get bored.

I would offer to help but I am not an expert, still learning after many years!

We usually ride Tuesday evenings, fast(ish) ss ride starting from near the Chase pub. Rarely do any of the properly built stuff, but its only a shortish 90min blast in winter. Bit longer when nights get longer.

If you take one of those map things you could wander aimlessly exploring the chase and discovering trails all the way. Its a lovely place to get lost as there is always someone to help only a few minutes away.
