Visiting lakes in a couple of weeks. Does anybody know of any decent off road rides around Bassenthwaite lake?

You can ride from bass up past dash falls to skiddaw house then on lonscale fell
Or from skiddaw house down to mungrisdale and either back to bass or head towards the old coach road.
You could also ride from bass to skiddaw if you want a decent descent

I assume you know it's next to whinlatter, just in case you fancy a blast round a trail centre.

From bewaldeth, easy to get to dash falls and climb to skiddaw house YH. Then continue round lonscale fell BW to the main BW up skiddaw, climb/push that, then if you like the cheeky sort of thing, descend to Carlside and Ullock pike, carry on down to ravenstone hotel then mooch along road back to bewaldeth. There are few better mountain days in the area than that.
