Snapped my spade a little while bak doing some building and want to get a new one... but....
Do I need a shovel, square mouth spade, trenching spade or tapered mouth spade - I know nothing!
Which would be best for digging out some corners and building jumps? Also I assume from previous experience than an all metal one would be best too.
Previously I just used what I had / was given.
Folks like differnet things and it largely depends what you are doing- clearing, digging , tamping etc.
I like these but seem to have to be custom made with no UK importers>

If your just digging and building jumps any spade will do I guess.
spear and jackson for me. no edges on the back and slight curve. or when you drag the spade back after each pat you undo your work
