Any suggestions for a rear wheel for a hardtail. Needs to be reasonably stout as it will do a few jumps and drops, nothing massive though.

Only really want to spend upto £150 as I'm planning on a new bike next year.

27.5 and 12x142. The only thing I can really find online are DT Swiss Spline. Is this a decent option?

Thanks

Can't go too far wrong with a DT rear, if you're after strength go for the E (enduro) rated ones.

1900 is a pawl hub, 1700's are a lighter and easier to work on ratchet hub but you may have difficulty finding a 1700 within budget.

Novatec on Stans Flow or I'd look for a secondhand Hope on Mavic EN821 unless you want a wider rim.

I have just fitted a set of DT Swiss E1900 Splines to my Chromag Rootdown (trail 29er hardtail).

After about 10 hours of riding i have no complaints at all for the money (circa £230 for the set), the freehub pick up isn't the quickest but I have gotten used to it.

They seems to be strong (as they should be as they aren't light) and stiff, come taped with valves and centrelock-6bolt adaptors in the box.  Tubeless was as easy as anything I have ever used.

The only thing i would say is finding 135mmQR end caps was a bit of a pain but i found them in stock at TF Tuned in the end, this won't be an issue if you have bolt thru.
