Evening All,

I'm after some opinions on the above course. I've recently completed a basic leadership course for a youth organization that I work with and was wondering if there was anyone on here who had the TCL qualification or if there was a better one that I could aim for?

All opinions welcomed ๐Ÿ™‚

Cheers,
Martin

One you do the 2 day TCL course you can do the mountain bike leader one, a bit more in depth looking at taking parties away overnight and further into the wilderness.

The TCL has been superseded by the British Cycling level 2 MTB leadership award.

In my opinion it's quite a valuable course as it gives you the skills to not only lead, but to help others with technique and mechanics, plus more. There's also an element of risk management and dealing with unexpected situations such as breakdowns on the trail. Too much to go in to here but have a look at the BC web site. http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/coaching/article/leader-Level-2-MTB-Leadership-homepage-0

The MBL equivalent is not ready yet but should exist next year as the BC MTB L3 award.
