Today i visited a trail centre as a walker, as opposed to a rider, and was quite amazed at the number of bikes just left leaning about the place, me or anyone else could have just walked up to any bike and rode off, even better if me or them had a helmet and the right cycling clothes on.

A cheap coil or combinaton lock will stop the walk or ride off thief, and dont forget a decent padlock and chain for the bikes when theyre on or in the car or van.

Perhaps think next time you use the toilet or cafe at a trail centre, would you leave my laptop or tv on the table while you go out of sight of them.

i can echo this, a few weeks ago i was waiting for a lift from the cafe at llandegla, fairly late, a guy rode up on a mojo hd covered in xtr kit leans it against a bench and walks into the cafe for about 20 mins. anyone could have walked off with lot of bike there.

About the time of the spate of thefts from Glyncorrwg, I parked next to a car with two expensive bikes left unattended on the roof. About 10 mins later the owners turned up, took them off within 2 mins and started getting kitted up. When I mentioned the thefts, I was told it was ok as they never leave them long enough to be stolen-I decided it would be a waste of time to argue with logic like that.
