[#5838665]

The tentative plan for this years family holiday is to hire a camper van for a week and go ride some of the better trail centers.

There will be five of us; probably just my two sons (ages 17 + 15) and I riding seriously with my wife and daughter walking/running.

I'd welcome your opinions on which trails should make the "must do" list.

Caveats:
The limit of my capability at present is probably the red route at Brechfa. Fitness isn't a problem but my technical skills are a bit "coarse" so I'm not looking for killer black runs.

We'll probably be taking our own bikes which are 2x good quality hardtails + one Specalized Hardrock which will get round ok.

We live in west Wales so Brechfa is local and Coed Y Brenin and Nant Y Arian are doable as day trips any time so we'd probably not do these unless we fancy a stopoff on the way home.

Swinley is local to the inlaws so we can do that pretty much when we want.

Thanks!

Rich

Head north! Lakes, Borders and beyond? 7 Stanes can be done at 1/day easily or take some rest days. Add in Keilder/Whinlatter for a bonus.

In all seriousness though is that 5 of you in a camper van for a week with 3 teenagers?? I'd be getting some cheap tents for the kids.

Yep. Tents were part of the equation! Might take the road bike in case I want to ride home half way through the week.
