[#1951424]

This goes out to all those interested in trailbuilding in the Cheltenham area. We’ve got access to 100 acres of woodland on the side of a hill and are wanting to get riders interested in trailbuilding to make themselves known.

Currently we have developed two lines, one a “classic” DH line and a “freeride” line – both are being extended and developed further. As the nights are growing shorter and the undergrowth is dying off we are hoping to get some people to come up to help us develop the trails.

So if you are interested please drop me a line at cheltenhamtrails at hotmail co uk and I will set something up to pass on more details.

It's a long way from Bristol to 'Nam, but some of the DH crew here might be interested - I can put the word out if you like.

LOL @ trail centres... What would a roadie do without roads...

Mr Agreeable - I know we'd love some support from you guys with your experience down your way. Obviously once things are sorted it'll give you something else to ride within an hours drive of Brizzel.

Tang - We're looking at a selection of trails, ranging from Full on DH to XC. We're hoping to get a nice XC loop sorted as there are some nice descents however the big problem is the climb back up and that most people want to focus on DH at the moment. If you want to come over and do a scout about to see what you could find you are more than welcome. I know there is a good loop in there but linking some of the nice sections together will take a little effort and thought.

I'm pretty sure that the roads weren't built specifically for the roadies to ride on...

FYI bushwacked - I'd be just as interested in building interesting technical climbs and xc descents as the DH stuff. Any point in getting some of the cotswold/cranham xc/trail riders to start work on a loop?

I just need to pull my finger out my **** and help 🙁

Never, on principle. I also won't walk on any footpaths that are less than two hundred years old 🙂

Oh be quiet.

Another Bristol rider here, DH and XC.

Where is this if you don't mind me asking? No worries if you'd rather not say. Is it upliftable on the road? Rode at Leckhampton on Sunday but there isn't much there that justifies a DH bike really (not that I found anyway). Does this new place have some potential for some nice steep, rocky, rooty tech?

After looking at the photos of the work that has already been done on Skidmores phone it looks great. Not too far away from Lecky and lots of scope.

XC folk will ride up whatever climbs they are given so don't worry too much on that front.

Stuthompson - drop me an email to the email cheltenhamtrails at hotmail dot co dot uk and I'll add you to the list of contacts.

Phototim - Its the other side of Cheltenham to Lecky and there is scope for some very different trails to Lecky. First time to Lecky? Did you find the trails in the woods that are steep and rooty? Did you find the trail that runs down from the ruins to the car park? Most of it is rideable on a HT but some are better on a DH / more robust bike
