Most years me and one of the lads do an 'epic' this year was the Gent Wevelgem, we've done others like the PPDS, SDW etc...
So thinking of next years.
Needing some ideas please. It can be a 1-3 dayer, but ideally wants to be a start/finish each day in the same place for accomodation etc. It can be mostly trails, but a bit of road would be OK. Doesn't need to be in the UK, but ideally within driving distance. Doesn't need to be trailcenter, but can take in a bit.
Won't be tenting/camping... Don't fancy that.
Inspire me.
Finale ligure with any of the guiding companies
That's potentially the family 7-10 dayer for next year with the boy.... so won't be really needed for this one, but will certainly have a browse at switch-backs over coffee.
Head for the Scottish Borders, stop at Wharncliffe on the way.
Base yourself in Innerleithen - more than enough trails/loops.
A favourite loop of mine from Innerleithen is to start with a few trails at Golfie, head down to the cafe at Walkerburn for lunch, then over the river to Glenbenna and back in to the Innerleithen trails from the South East corner. Can make it as 'epic' as you like depending on how many trails you ride in each area.

Lakes 200 never done it despite living here (done mist of it in bits) but on the list
I suppose the question is how trail-ly and how epic you're looking for? (and precisely what you mean by those)
For two days I'd be tempted to go to the lakes, stay in Ambleside.
Do the four passes, only start from Ambleside pedal out to Rossett on (enjoy it whilst you can!) the tarmac (or drive). From there, Cumbria way, up over langdale and stake, to stonethwaite /seatoller. Pickup the four pass there.
Then on the way back, at sty head, turn south east to sprinkling tarn, esk hause and Rossett pike, then back along the Cumbria way to Rossett. Enjoy the merciful tarmac back to Ambleside and beer.
Day two, assuming you don't think better of it after yesterday. Out of Ambleside over to town end via waterhead/highskell ghyll, then pick up the high Street gates garth and harter fell. Or if you're feeling very epic Staveley three passes.
Both are big day routes in their own right.
