Is 150 tpi good?

Can you get a more supple feeling by using smaller inner tubes so they stretch?

Tpi 150 is fine, 320 is about the top but can be very fragile. If you want supple then use latex tubes. Don’t run thin butyl ones unless you like fixing punctures. Better still, go tubeless if rim allows.

I'm a tubeless fan on the MTB but I don't think you can ghetto tubeless on road? Plus I can only run 23c which needs too high a pressure I think.

TPI varies from manufacturer to manufacturer; some quote for a single ply and some quote for the (usually) three plies combined. 150 as a single ply is extremely fine, too fine for many bike uses. Conti quote 3/330 (for example), i.e. 3x110 TPI. Your 150 is possibly 3x50TPI. EPI is another way of expressing TPI
