The fog lights on my towbar mounted bike rack don't work on one car (2015 A4 estate), but work when connected to the other car, (a 2015 Golf).
I have therefore assumed that the fault is not with the carrier, but with the first car. <span style="font-size: 12.8px;">I have checked the fuses in the car boot and they seem ok.</span>
When I connect the bike carriers electrics they disable the cars fog lights, but don't work on the carrier.
I have booked it into the auto-electricians in a for a couple of weeks time but wondered whether it was something obvious that I was missing.
Any ideas ?
Check for voltage on the pin on the towbar, if that's fine then it'll be a dodgy connection when you plug the rack in. If there's no voltage then it's a problem with the car wiring. Not unknown for one pin to have corrosion or just splay out enough for one not to work but the others all be fine.
