Can anyone recommend somewhere to fit a towbar in Northumberland or Tyneside.

Don't want them cutting holes in the bumper or making a horlicks of the wiring etc.

Cheers seanodav.

I know that place and was the first one I thought of. Seem to remember I got all the bits and bobs for a trailer I made a few years ago from there.

Used Hedleys earlier this year with no problems and well priced. Came to do at house but couldn't get bumper off, seized hardware, so ended up going to their place, the nearby tesco had okay cafe to kill some time in waiting.

What's the car? Most modern cars have a slot on the fuse kx to plugin electrics so no scotchlocks required and fitting the hardware was easy even for me so should be no trouble given your experience (building trailer)??

I got my towbar and plug in module from these guys - very helpful on the phone before I bought and assured me they could give advice on the phone if I got stuck during fitting but that I probably wouldn't as it was easy and the instructions clear. They were right!
£140 for a fixed flange (but the ball and and the arm it sits on is easily removable with 2 bolts)

Neil at NB Fleet services will come and fit one on site for you - you can contact him on 07903 *** 716735. They mostly subcontract for garages, they specialise in tow bars, reversing sensors, ply lining, etc. Great guy, used him for years (whilst working at garages natch).

Chris.

Stanley towbars in Chester-le-Street are very good but they only do it at their workshop. Hedley will come to you at work or at home and fit it. I was charged approx 30 quid ( plus towbar and electrics)to do it at my work, took about an hour. Ford Mondeo estate. Life time guarantee on the towbar as long as you have the car and a years guarantee on the electrics. They also sell kits for DIY'ers.
