I suspect that Nibbles is reasonably toast after his Giro win. I think a double would be very very difficult in this modern peloton.

Indeed, but I'd not want to find out that he was actually oK when he's got 5 minutes on me already.

Nibali is 9 minutes down i thought, so even if he gets 5 he's still a way off.

Go on Steve, nail it!

EDIT - 9 minutes down from Froome and GC guys, 14m+ on GVA

Nibbles already over 14 mins down, so I don't think they'll be too bothered about giving up 5 of those minutes.

Pinot to be the big loser today? He's looked a bit off form. Would be a shame.

Looks in trouble. Disappointed to be right.

Makes a change from 'le Pen Vite' which is the usual phrase préférée of the fn

This is turning into a hell of a race for Dimension Date, what's that, 4 of the 7 stages so far? Pretty damn impressive that.

And a day in yellow for Cav and quite possibly the spotty jersey for Cummings too.

Not enough points to overhaul Thomas de Gendt apparently...

The drooping banner sounds hilarious

One rider was hurt ina fall at the collapsing sign, whether it was a real injury or a major sense of humour failure I don't know

And Nibali only clawed back less than 2 and a half minutes from the GC contenders...think he will fade with tomorrow's stage.

The rider hurt at the falling kite was Adam Yates - some facial injuries according to the commentary on ITV4 - just seen video of him riding over the line with a cut chin.

For the sake of my sanity, would people please stop referring to Nibali as 'Nibbles'?

Cringe

He deliberately lost 15 mins the other day so he could go stage hunting. He's not there for GC.

Steve Cummings eh, blimey what a great couple of yeas he's having.

Not too sure why the GC lot left Greg out there to gain time.

As a_a said - he's bought another day in a yellow jersey and spared his teammates the need to protect him but I reckon he'll suffer badly tomorrow

ffs, what sort of luck do the Yates lads have this year?!

Making the calculation, he was 5 mins clear at the start of he stage. Who was going to chase him. Most of the big GC teams would be happy with having him out there. And most of the smaller teams would be unlikely to be able to overhaul his 5 min lead.

fab ride by Steve, but why all the "Cav" questions at the end, too much of a pro to wtf the interviewer, so gave the nod too other team mates instead.

Not sure what they showed in UK but French TV where interviewing Cummings when Cav rushed up straight off the bike (helmet still on) to give him a big hug and a kiss on the bonce. He paid Steve a few compliments and was just happy for him. They then asked him a few questions but they would anyway as he is in Green. Sounds like the UK presenter had a Cav obsession

Agreed, if they didn't have bad luck they'd have none.
