Who has Kristoff then? No-one?
not me, you'll never win with an ol' fella like him
oh
The crash itself was about 30m past the banner. Probably as half the bunch thought “oh, we’ve made it to the cut off safely, we can sit up and chill out now”, then they sat up and everyone ran into everyone else.
Just said the same watching the highlights!
it was all pretty chaotic. Everyone seems race rusty.
Suggestions that a promotional truck in the caravan was out there dropping washing up liquid on the road.

The answer has its logic. These are "emulsions" from vehicles that have accumulated on the asphalt after many days without rain. In other words, the dirt that plagues the capital and other cities in Spain has been reflected in the streets. At least, not only the rain has served to refresh the atmosphere but it has also caused the streets to be cleaned. In the absence of sweepers, welcome the downpour, many citizens have repeated today.
In other words, all the brake fluid, oil, gasoline residues, tire wear, garbage ... that accumulates comes to the surface 'torn away' by the rain, which at times in the capital has been intense, and which, as always, has activated the DGT to warn that drivers in these types of moments should exercise extreme caution. Not only because you always have to do it in the rain but because this kind of foam also has its risks because it is mostly oil and can be slippery.
that was a stressful stage to watch
on a day when nothing should have happened, only in the tour can it all happen, the stage had everything, and it shows that the weather, being mostly in September will be a bigger factor than usual, La Flame Rouge posted a video showing it snowing in the Pyrenees at 2400m
maybe an unpopular opinion, but good on Astana for taking it up, and then AG2R, its stage 1, day 1, who deemed Jumbo leaders of the Peloton? apparently Roglic used to be a ski jumper, so should be used to slippery descents
spirt was stressful as well, Bennett got closed out,
and after it all, poor Degenkolb missed the time cut off by 2 minutes, after killing himself getting Caleb Ewan so may not start tomorrow, down to the commissaries
Happy to if someone can find a reliable source of said info, the official site has one but it’s far to detailed to post here.
Any suggestions?
No need to include it lunge, it's on the website if people care to look.

NB Local times.

Yes it would have been hilarious if their leader had crashed out!
apparently Roglic used to be a ski jumper
No! Really?
Why hasn't anyone mentioned that before?
😉
but good on Astana for taking it up,
Why? They kind of proved it was a bad idea and I don't think that if their attack had succeeded it would have improved the race.
Cosnefroy's attack later on was fair game though - flat wide road with much less danger.

Yep that certainly provided some entertainment!!
Adam Yates is looking good for future stage wins. Had my heart in my mouth yesterday. So nearly in yellow.
Really hope skyneos4x4 give him some free reign next season.
