What did you do about it if you've ever had it? I've only been off the bike two weeks due to illness tried to ride on Saturday and felt like a complete novice. I've had an operation under General in the last two weeks and lots of strong antibiotic drugs but total mojo loss is a nightmare...
head up, I managed to clear a drop of trail yesterday (with v patient assistance from justme)which had vexed my head for three years.
Keep on going it will come back
I was off the bike for nearly 6 months with an injury, and I felt like crap when I got back in the saddle.
Going great now, though. Someone on here said you need to give it 6 rides to get back in the groove, and that was about right. Everytime since then I've got better, and the dry spell helped.
Don't give in.
I have no intention of giving it up, just amazing that in two weeks I've gone from reasonably competent and looking forward to my Alps trip to - I'm going to die what was I thinking booking the Alps.
I was off the bike for 7 months through serious injury (caused on the bike!), then whilst off the bike I booked a trip to California for some awesome MTB - I got back on the bike in April 2010 (due in California in Sept 2010) and thought exactly the same....
"If I can't ride Dartmoor, I stand NO CHANCE at Downieville!"
I then threw my toys out of the pram right up until the time I went - got there and guess what? My 'MOJO' came back and it was the most awesome riding I have EVER done!
Keep persevering and you will enjoy it again and everything will come back to you!
If I'm really[b] honest, I only believe that I have ridden as well as I did before the accident for the first time last week and that's 1 year & 8 months after the accident!
loss of mojo happens for various reasons. just chill out and ride simple trails for a bit and you will feel less competitive within your self and relax more
That's fair advice heading off to the land of tricky trails on Saturday wasnt exactly easing myself back into it.
op, drugs and loss of mojo are possibly all linked, (felt crap for a while after my last op) sure you'll feel better once your system is back to normal as Jedi says just chill for a bit ๐
Don't underestimate the effects of a general anaesthetic
They wipe me out for several weeks, even when no real surgery is involved (girl's stuff)
Several people have said that about the general (two are nurses so I ought to listen) Thanks all I feel a bit better about my sudden lack of cohones.
if i lose my mojo i go snowboarding o a dryslope. Makes a change and then i relaise i prefer mtb's and go back to that, happy again.
joolsburger - Member........ my sudden lack of cohones.
Are you sure you had the right op? ๐
AS others say - the general can really wipe you out for a while as can all theother drugs. Relax and let your mojo come back to you
Are you sure you had the right op?

That's good advice. I generally do the exact opposite tho, ie. go riding with mates of the same speed/level as I was or go hit a big jump etc. to make me realise it's still there. Some days you're better off just going to the pub tho. ๐loss of mojo happens for various reasons. just chill out and ride simple trails for a bit and you will feel less competitive within your self and relax more
